Almeria B will show fighting spirit again to win on home turf

The young players host Vélez with the intention of qualifying for the competition play-offs

The UD Almeria B team, after coming off with a 1-2 victory last weekend over Torreperogil, host Vélez CF in the Anexo football ground at Juegos Mediterraneos. The Rojiblancos’ main objective is winning at home again, after not doing so since the players did not manage to beat Real Jaén on matchday 22. In addition, the UD Almeria Academy are fully immersed in the fight for promotion, which is three points away.

The Rojiblancos are aware that every game can be decisive when it comes to fighting to enter the play-offs. Fernando Santos, ‘Nandinho’, will be able to count on crucial pieces of puzzle for this Sunday’s encounter (12 a.m.). Almería B were struggling to put together their starting lineup as not many players were on the roster; several of them were injured and some others were serving a suspension.

The Vélez CF, a regular team of Group IX of the Third Division, are arriving in our city after a bad run of results that led the side to find themselves in a difficult situation to avoid the drop one way or another. In fact, the team from Malaga have been down on their luck lately as the players failed to win nine match weeks.
