Almería are confident of their chances to enter the play-off final

The Rojiblancos face the second leg of the semi-finals this Sunday at 7 p.m.. Girona won 1-0 in the first leg last Thursday

Almería are fully confident in their chances to enter the final of the play-off for promotion to LaLiga Santander, and in this sense they are convinced that they can overcome Girona, who will get to the Mediterraneo with a 1-0 result advantage achieved in the first leg of the semi-finals last Thursday. This Sunday, after the game kick-off at 7:00 p.m, it will be decided who continue to fight to play the exciting play-off final.

The atmosphere in the Almeria squad is optimistic, although at the same time the coaching staff and the players are wary because the result of the first leg was not only not good enough, but also dangerous. In fact, a goal from Girona at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium would force Almería to have to defeat their opponents by two goals. As we have already reported, the 1-0 result is worth it for the Rojiblancos because of their better position in the Spanish second-tier table. If the 90-minute ordinary time ends with this score, there would be extra time, yet no penalties.

José Gomes, Almería head coach, does not yet know if he will be able to recover some of his players who are out of action either injured or feeling discomfort. Although in the last training session on Saturday some of the footballers have taken part in the preparation, there will still be a final test in the physical activation this Sunday at the hotel where the team are getting together this week. Except for the players who are self-isolating and in quarantine, the others will head to their home turf and later on the Portuguese head coach will make up his mind to include 23 players who will be part of the team roster.
