UD Almería could not afford to let down their hopes on home turf against Racing Club Ferrol to continue their fight for promotion and they didn't despite struggling in the dying embers when the Galicia side reduced the deficit in stoppage time. UD Almería recorded the W which is the important thing. They leapfrogged SD Huesca in the standings and moved up level on points with Granada CF, who occupy the last promotion play-off spot due to their better goal difference. 

 

Rubi had already announced in the pre-match press conference that he would be making changes to the squad list. On the one hand, due to the poor performance in Castellón, where the Indálicos were thrashed, and on the other, because they were playing a double-header in just a few days, as they host CD Eldense on Sunday. Fernando was the main change, but not the only one.
