UD Almería have turned what was once the exception into the norm and there is certainly no shortage of enjoyment in it. The Rojiblancos have now won every home game this season, while their performances in the opening 45 minutes continue to reach impressive levels.

Once again, UD Almería produced a superb first-half display, creating chance after chance and taking a 2-goal lead into the break. After the interval, García Pimienta's side showed another side to their game, defending their advantage with determination to claim a 3rd consecutive victory and another clean sheet, their 3rd in 6 matches.

UD Almería may have passed up opportunities to add to their tally, but they got the job done.

First half

When a head coach makes changes and García Pimienta made 4 from the side that won in Córdoba, the expectation is that those coming in will make an impact. On this occasion, the gaffer handed starts to players who had not featured in either of the previous two victories. The changes paid immediate dividends.

Within the opening 7 minutes, the Rojiblancos had hit the post, created 2 further openings and won a corner and in between it all, taken the lead.

The breakthrough came early and was scored by a player who, just a few weeks ago, had been watching on from the sidelines. Melamed opened the scoring with a superb strike from the edge of the box, guiding the ball towards the far corner with such precision that it almost brushed Coke's right-hand post before finding the back of the net (1-0).

Melamed's smile once again lit up the UD Almería Stadium as the hosts made the perfect start.

The warning signs had arrived as early as the second minute, when De la Fuente struck the same post. Then, after UD Almería had taken the lead, Embarba came within inches of doubling the advantage.

The forward's excellent first touch opened up a gap in the RC Celta Fortuna defence and allowed him to unleash a powerful effort, but the goalkeeper stood firm and turned it behind for a corner.

García Pimienta's side were in full flow. The Celta de Vigo 'B' team players responded with a long-range effort from Capde. The midfielder had initially stepped across to break up a UD Almería counter-attack, but his attempted clearance took on a life of its own and became a spectacular strike which crashed against Andrés Fernández's crossbar.

The visitors had come within inches of an equaliser. Instead, the Indálicos doubled their lead.

Javi Muñoz has already shown his versatility this season, operating as a holding midfielder, a playmaker and an attacking midfielder. Now, it seems, he can add centre-forward to the list.

One of the Club's latest arrivals scored his second goal of the campaign after meeting a perfect cross from Luna. Javi Muñoz timed his run brilliantly between the 3 RC Celta Fortuna centre-backs and got there first with his right boot to make it 2-0. It is certainly not the first time the midfielder has found himself at the very tip of the Rojiblancos' attack.

UD Almería's home form in the opening 45 minutes is becoming a story in itself. Having scored 6 first-half goals across their previous 2 home fixtures, they added another 2 here. That makes 8 goals scored before half-time in their 3 home matches this season. And they could easily have had more.

In the 20th minute, just 3 minutes after Javi Muñoz's goal, Melamed was presented with another glorious opportunity. Completely unmarked inside the 6-yard box, he could only head wide from close range after another inviting cross, this time from Embarba.

The Rojiblancos continued to pile on the pressure. With a 2-goal advantage and seemingly countless opportunities arriving, UD Almería were camped inside the Celta Fortuna penalty area. Melamed came close again in the 35th minute, forcing Coke into a difficult save with a low, well-placed effort from the edge of the box.

Moments later, Cipenga also went close. His left-footed effort from a promising position flashed narrowly past the far post. It was UD Almería's 9th attempt of the match and their 4th on target, not including the effort which had struck the post.

The half-time whistle arrived with UD Almería in complete control and the feeling that the scoreline could easily have been even more emphatic. Yet the game was not over.

Second half 

Head coach García Pimienta made his first change at the break, with Dzôdić, who had been carrying a knock during the week, replaced by Vesga in midfield.

Fredi also made 2 changes as RC Celta Fortuna looked to improve after a difficult opening 45 minutes.

The second half began in much the same fashion as the first, with another chance arriving almost immediately.

Just as De la Fuente had struck the post early on, the striker came close again 2 minutes after the restart. His volley was struck with the ferocity of a penalty in open play, but the effort flew narrowly wide. The Celta Fortuna boys then had their best opportunity to get back into the contest.

In the 48th minute, Óscar found himself through on goal but was unable to beat Andrés Fernández, dragging his effort too close to the UD Almería keeper as he tried to find the far corner.

The visitors began to grow into the game. But UD Almería continued to create chances of their own and had several opportunities to put the result beyond doubt.

In the 55th minute, Embarba tried his luck from distance, his effort flying just over the crossbar at the North stand.

Then, with 82 minutes gone, De la Fuente came within a fraction of adding a third after another excellent team move. The striker just failed to connect with yet another dangerous delivery into the 6-yard box.

The 2-0 advantage was not always comfortable as the guests from Galicia  enjoyed more possession and territory after the interval. But the home team  showed another important quality: the ability to defend their lead.

Just as the Rojiblancos have developed a habit of scoring goals and creating chances, García Pimienta's side are also becoming increasingly assured without the ball.

Andrés Fernández was determined to preserve his clean sheet and produced an important save in the 85th minute to deny the visitors.

Another clean sheet. Another victory. And another 3 points.

In an anthill, every member has a role to play. Worker ants search for food, build and maintain their habitat. Soldier ants defend the colony and protect its routes to food. Individually, they may have little strength, but together they form something far greater.

That is exactly the spirit of this 2026/27 UD Almería team.

The Rojiblancos have now won 3 in a row and kept 3 clean sheets this season. There is no single name standing above the rest.
