UD Almeria U19 ‘A’ play host to Calavera CF before cup action
The UDA Academy products, who are taking on the Sevillian side at 6:15pm (CET) this Saturday in Huércal de Almeria, are gassed about extending their unbeaten streak to 21 weeks.
UD Almeria under-19s ‘A’ will start a hectic week with three games in nine days. The first is going to be played this weekend against Calavera CF, after which the youth team will travel to Las Palmas in order to play the Spanish Cup U19 and then, making another trip again to face Málaga CF U19.
The Indálicos youth team will head into the next game after achieving an all-important victory over CF Rusadir in Melilla, the chief town of a Spanish enclave in Morocco, last week thanks to match winner Rachad, who is on fire as he has taken his goal tally to 17. The striker has become the top scorer in the tier.
At this point in the season, Alberto Lasarte's boys have scored points in 19 consecutive match weeks; if we take into consideration the two wins clinched in the Spanish Cup U19, it would be 21 consecutive games without losing.
Calavera CF sit 8th on 29 points. The Blanquinegro outfit will go into the game on the back of a 2-1 home victory over bottom team Algeciras. In addition, in the first half of the season The Almerienses and the Sevillians shared the spoils (1-1).
At the halfway point of the season, the UDA under19s ‘A’ remain Division de Honor Juvenil pacesetters with 54 points, three more than pursuer Real Betis U19s. Also, the unstoppable Indalicos have an advantage of 7 points over over third-placed Sevilla FC U19s.
