4-2: New defeat sends UD Almería to drop zone
The Rojiblancos lose away to Levante UD after overturning a two-goal deficit before half-time. Rubi's side has picked up 2 points out of a possible 15 on the last few Matchdays and continues to lose positions in the standings. The rivals reach the Indálicos' box easily
Another heavy defeat this time at the Ciudad de Valencia Stadium against Levante UD even though UD Almería managed to overturn a two-goal deficit before the break with goals from Sergio Arribas. However, in the second half the Levantinistas knew how to get the game back on track and put the Rojiblancos on the ropes. After having added only two points from the last fifteen played, have fallen to the relegation spots to the Primera RFEF tier. Without a doubt a problem that they will have to solve immediately. The rivals reach UD Almería's box with ease and good proof of this is that the team that concede the most goals in LaLiga Hypermotion... who would say!.
Rubi made three changes to the squad that shared the spoils with SD Eibar on the last Matchday. Marc Pubill was replaced as a right-back by Pozo. Robertone played in the midfield instead of Lopy, while Arribas took over Leo Baptistao's place on the right wing.
After four match weeks without winning, in which only two points have been added, UD Almería needed not to leave Valencia empty-handed and the head coach considered that these were the main assets to face Levante UD.
But the game and all the approaches became complicated soon, very soon, because before minute 2 the hosts took the lead. The Indálicos lost the ball and Roger Brogué beat Maximiano with a shot taken from a wide position. It was time to pluck up the courage, especially when Morales doubled their lead 2-0 in the 15th minute. Thank goodness that Arribas, inside 17 minutes, through a solo play, pegged them back and with the game practically won by the Valencianos, the excitement and hope was reborn in the Rojiblancos.
From that moment and with half an hour to go until half-time, the sides exchanged a hatful of chances, although it was Levante UD that showed the greatest efficiency in their plays, in addition to giving the greatest sense of danger. For this reason, Rubi asked Arnau, Baba, Lopy and Leo Baptistao to warm up. It seemed that the end of the first period was reached with this scenario, but UD Almería would still have things to do in added time. Robertone kicked a corner and Arribas flicked the ball on his head, sending it to the back of the net. It was 2-2 at half-time.
Rubi made adjustments to the starting XI at the beginning of the second half. Bruno Langa replaced Alex Centelles, and Baba came on for Radovanovic. Edgar took the Serbian's spot in the centre of the defence and the Ghanaian was in the midfield. Shortly after, in the 50th minute, Arnau Puigmal came on for Robertone looking to boost the attack because Levante UD, on 48 minutes, had once again taken the lead with a great goal from Kochorashvili due to another defensive inaccuracy.
UD Almería, who had pegged the home team back twice 2-2, once again had to go against the tide. The Indálicos tried, they gave everything, but they left spaces in their attempt to tie and their rivals took advantage of this. Anything could happen because danger was created in both areas. Leo Baptistao also took to the pitch and then Rachad, but UD Almería's nerves, the time passing without scoring, the reproaches between team-mates... And Levante UD, meanwhile, on a counter-attack, slotted home the fourth. In the end, it was 4-2 at the Ciudad de Valencia Stadium.
