Embarba: ‘The second half of the season is going to be more complicated than the first’

The former Rayista player says ‘Rayo are having a scintillating season.’ Although he knows that ‘if we play as we know, we can beat anyone’

Former Rayo Vallecano player Adrián Embarba met the media this morning at the Power Horse Stadium press room to look ahead to next Monday's first reverse fixture: ‘Rayo Vallecano are a great team and nothing surprises me, they’re doing things very well and have things very clear. They played a scintillating first half of the season. The UD Almería right-winger has recognised that Vallecas ‘is a very difficult field where to score points and they play with intensity. However, if we play as we know, we can beat anyone.’

With regard to the clash that awaits UD Almería in Madrid, the 30-year-old footballer commented that it will be a ‘beautiful match for the spectators because Rayo are a team that also likes to have possession of the ball like we do. There will be goals and hopefully the game will end with a victory for UD Almería.’ Embarba has argued that the key to bring the three points back home ‘is to bring more physicality and bite to the Rojiblancos’ attack like them, have clear ideas and impose our football style. If we do things right, we’ll have many chances to win.’

As for Rubi’s squad, the Madrid-born right-winger highlighted ‘we’re becoming really strong, especially at home; we all contribute both in attack and defence. There are many changes in the starting XI and we’re all doing well. That’s what makes the team grow. We want to be just as strong at home as away.’

On the other hand, Embarba seems to be settled in at UD Almeria: ‘Here I feel comfortable and happy. It’s been a success to come here, both for UD Almería and for me. That makes me feel more confident and daring in matches. In the end, I show on the pitch how I am and how I train. I hope I score in Vallecas, although I wouldn't celebrate it. I want to score and help the team win.’
