Cup mode on as UD Almeria visit CD Arenteiro this Sunday

The squad members have returned 5 weeks later to the fresh Anexo training pitch to do training

LaLiga Santander has shut down for the 2022 Qatar World Cup with UD Almería placed in a comfortable position in the table. The Rojiblancos are now fully focused on their imminent participation in the Copa del Rey as they visit CD Arenteiro, from the town of Carballino (Ourense, Galicia), this Sunday (KO 9pm CET).

The squad, who had Thursday off duty after Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Getafe CF, are now back in training on the Anexo training pitch five weeks later, which is now available with winter grass. Now, the lawn at the Power Horse Stadium pitch will be reseeded taking advantage of the winter break.

UD Almería are now preparing their Spanish Cup single-legged tie against Segunda Division RFEF opponents who are having a great season. CD Arenteiro are group leaders and have recently been crowned champions of the Copa Federacion aka Copa RFEF. The Rojiblancos have the utmost respect for the next hosts and are aware of the difficulties they will encounter due to the Galicians’ competitiveness, as head coach Rubi has already mentioned.

UD Almería will be back to training this Saturday evening on the Anexo training ground, behind closed doors, while Sunday morning they will be flying charter to Galicia.
