As soon as UD Almería touched down in Almería, they set sights on RCD Espanyol

The Rojiblancos were the last ones to play on Matchday 18 and will play the Matchday 19 opener on Friday with only three training sessions between the two fixtures.

UD Almería have been the last footballers to play on Matchday 18 after drawing with Valencia CF at the Mestalla Stadium, and next Friday, they will play the Matchday 19 opener against RCD Espanyol de Barcelona at the Power Horse Stadium (kick-off 9pm CET).

After returning from Valencia this Tuesday, the travelling Rojiblancos headed to the Anexo training ground with their sights set on the Catalan side. The starters against the Valencian team have performed active recovery work-outs, while the other players got involved in a more demanding session this Tuesday morning.

The UD Almería first team will only have three days to prepare for the upcoming home match against guests RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. They will surely make the most of the sessions aiming to earn the last three points at stake before reaching the halfway point of the season. The next two practices on Wednesday and Thursday will be conducted behind closed doors.

Rubi's team are determined to obtain more than 20 points after their last fixture of the first half of the LaLiga Santander campaign, being aware that it is a vital match, since Espanyol are direct rivals in the race to stay up in the league.

At this moment, the Pericos sit 13th in the standings on 20 points, just one over UD Almería (14th). Rubi's side have collected 19 points so far, two points clear of the bottom three, a zone in which the Rojiblancos have been placed 2 out of 18 Matchdays.
