2-1: UD Almería defeated in Seville in a match they should not have lost.

The Rojiblancos took an early lead and despite the rivals came from behind, the visitors fashioned enough chances to have grabbed a leveller.

UD Almería were narrowly defeated by Sevilla FC at the Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium after a tough-looking game that they should not have lost considering the big chances they created. The Rojiblancos are second-to-last in the standings, although the thirteenth spot is only three points away.

Rubi picked out a different starting XI to the previous Matchday as Eguaras started in the midfield replacing César de la Hoz; Pozo on the right flank and Arnau Puigmal in charge of attacking. El Bilal Touré and Akieme were subbed early on over injuries.

The game couldn't have started any better for UD Almería because Akieme, who picked up a superb assist by Pozo, opened the scoring in style on 2 minutes (0-1).

Rubi was forced to make a double substitution inside 11 minutes due to the injuries sustained by Akieme and El Bilal Touré; Alex Centelles and Ramazani replaced them. The Sevillistas had more possession, but UD Almería kept them at bay and went all out vertically always looking at the opposite goal. However, as time began to wind down, the hosts achieved more dominance with the visitors digging in. UD Almería struggled and in stoppage time, Sevilla FC slammed in a penalty taken by Ocampos.

At the restart, UD Almería put together some neat exchanges through the thirds to gain momentum and after four minutes, Luis Suárez, following a ball won back by Ramazani, they couldn't hit the target. Rubi's side effectively played the ball out of the defence displaying threatening counter-attacks. Centelles finished off a superb cross from Pozo inside 71 minutes and the ball was kicked out by a defender on the goal line.

When it seemed that 1-2 was achievable, the home team made it 2-1. Bryan Gil sprayed a pass and peer Lamela, beat Fernando with a lovely header.

This is an unfair narrow defeat for the Indalicos who will have to go all out next weekend for a win to avoid the drop.
