1–1: A big point which could have been 3… but also none at all

UD Almería took the lead, but SD Eibar equalised in the 87th minute after laying siege to Andrés Fernández’s goal. Gui Guedes came close to scoring a late winner. The match was halted for around 20 minutes following a UD Almería supporter’s fall from the stands onto the pitch

UD Almería earned a valuable point in an entertaining clash between two promotion contenders. Quim Junyent put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute, but SD Eibar's sustained pressure eventually paid off when Pejino equalised in the 86th minute. Deep into stoppage time, Gui Guedes came agonisingly close to snatching a dramatic winner for UD Almería.

Xavier García Pimienta made no changes to the starting XI that faced Real Oviedo, opting for the same line-up that had impressed in the previous league fixture. UD Almería began confidently, controlling possession and dictating the tempo through the technical quality of Dzôdić, Javi Muñoz, Arribas and Quim Junyent. SD Eibar, third in the standings, threatened at times, but the visitors' defence remained composed.

UD Almería's bright start was rewarded in the 17th minute. A beautifully constructed attacking move culminated in Quim Junyent finishing from inside the box to make it 1–0, a deserved reward for the visitors' early dominance.

The match was then interrupted by a serious incident in the stands. A UD Almería supporter from the Grada Joven section fell onto the pitch from a height of approximately 3 metres while celebrating the goal. Medical assistance arrived promptly, and after being immobilised, the supporter was taken to hospital. The referee sent both teams to the dressing rooms, with play resuming after a stoppage of around 20 minutes.

The interruption changed the momentum. SD Eibar returned with greater intensity, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. The hosts enjoyed more possession and territory, while the Indálicos concentrated on maintaining their defensive shape. Despite their growing pressure, SD Eibar struggled to create clear-cut opportunities before the break, and the visitors went into half-time with their advantage intact.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Basque Country-based side pressing aggressively and forcing UD Almería deep into their own half. The visitors had a chance to extend their lead in the 50th minute, but Cipenga fired over when well placed on the counter-attack.

Andrés Fernández then became increasingly influential. In the 65th minute, he produced an excellent save to deny Iván Gil before Adu Ares struck the post two minutes later. The UD Almería goalkeeper was outstanding again in the 76th minute, keeping his side in front with another superb intervention.

However, SD Eibar's relentless pressure eventually told. In the 86th minute, Pejino produced a stunning finish into the top corner to level the contest at 1–1.

There was still time for a dramatic twist. Deep into stoppage time, substitute Gui Guedes connected with a loose ball and came within inches of scoring a late winner for UD Almería.

The final whistle confirmed a share of the spoils at Ipurua. Given SD Eibar's dominance for long spells and the pressure they applied after the break, UD Almería will take considerable encouragement from a hard-earned point, even if victory was tantalisingly within reach.
