UD Almería will play last pre-season friendly against Saudi Arabian champions

The Rojiblancos are taking on Al-Hilal Saudi FC, who played the last FIFA Club World Cup, on Sunday, 7 August in the West Midlands of England.

UD Almería continue to arrange their summer friendlies and will close out their pre-season preparations against Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal Saudi FC, the most successful club in Saudi Arabia as they won the Asian Champions several times. The first-tier side played the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2021 losing to Chelsea FC, who would later become champs, in the semis.

The friendly match will be played on Sunday, 7 August at the Pirelli Stadium in the town of Burton-Upon-Trent located in Staffordshire, England. Al-Hilal Saudi FC, coached by Argentinian Ramón Díaz, have key players from Saudi Arabia in the squad who have been capped for the national team and will feature in the next World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to having footballers of different nationalities such as Peruvian international André Carrillo or Nigerian international Ighalo.

It will be the last friendly game that will bring UD Almería's pre-season to an end just a week before LaLiga Santander kick-off, however there are still two more games to be arranged that will be confirmed shortly.

For now, the Rojiblancos will get the pre-season friendlies underway on Sunday, 17 July (KO 7:30pm CEST) playing host to Malaga-based fourth-tier side Vélez CF on the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos. Next, the Indalicos squad will head to Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Sports Resort, located in Jerez de la Frontera, where they will be facing two third-tier outfits; first, Córdoba CF on Saturday, 23 July (KO 8pm CEST) and the day after, San Fernando CD (Sunday, 24 July/ KO 7:30pm CEST). Then, newly relegated Granada CF on Saturday, 30 July (KO 7:30pm CEST). A new friendly (TBC) will also be played on Friday, 29 July at the Montecastillo stage as well as another (TBC) in August before flying out to England.
