UD Almería hoping to avoid misfortune against archrivals at Montilivi

The Rojiblancos are visiting Girona FC this Monday for a feisty encounter with kick-off set at 9pm (Spain Time)

UD Almería are taking on Girona FC at the Montilivi Stadium this Monday, 4 October (Matchday 8/ kick-off 9pm Spain Time). It will be a huge LaLiga SmartBank clash given that both teams have locked horns not only in the regular season but also in the play-offs for promotion, as it also happened in 2013 when the Rojiblancos managed to move up to top tier Primera Division for the second time.

The thing is that each game is a very different story. UD Almería are eager to stay on track in the championship, especially after two back-to-back victories because in the event of achieving the third win in a row, they will be top of the league.

Despite UD Almería sit third in the standings and the team players from Girona are in the 18th position close to the bottom of the table at the moment, it will be a feisty encounter. The Indalicos are fully aware that they will have to go all out for a win in North Spain as they know that Girona FC are powerful, tough archrivals with the same promotion aspirations.

The UD Almeria squad members participated in a final behind-closed-doors training session at the Juegos Mediterraneos this Sunday. The UD Almeria players will be travelling on a charter flight to Girona. Head coach Rubi has all his players available for selection, except for injured Aitor Buñuel.
