UD Almería get ready for LaLiga Santander journey

The Rojiblancos are back to training with their minds set on Real Madrid CF. From this Thursday, behind-closed-doors sessions

UD Almería have resumed training after their return flight last Monday from England where the team closed out the pre-season campaign taking on Al-Hilal Saudi FC. The players were last Tuesday off duty and this Wednesday they have returned to train to get ready for LaLiga Santander journey.

The Rojiblancos have trained this Wednesday morning at the Anexo Power Horse ground, fully focused on the upcoming opening game that on Sunday will see them hosting reigning league champions Real Madrid CF.

Centre-back Chumi has rejoined the group. Arnau Puigmal worked out at the gym under the supervision of the physiotherapists due to muscular discomfort that forced him off the last friendly against Al-Hilal Saudi FC; his injury is not serious though. Juanjo Nieto and Iván Martos were also on the sidelines, who are recovering from the injuries they suffered last season.

The squad members have worked on their fitness, as well as possession of the ball, pressure and finishing drills during the practice. Head coach Rubi has insisted a lot on ending effectively the offensive plays in order to block the opponents' counter-attacks.

Starting this Thursday, the team will train behind closed doors to focus on tactics ahead of Sunday's match against Real Madrid CF.
