The Almeria B team will play against teams from the provinces of Granada and Jaén in ‘Tercera Division’

The Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) has confirmed the fourth-tier of competition set-up for the upcoming 2020/21 season

The Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) has officially confirmed the fourth-tier of competition group IX set-up that includes the creation of two subgroups into which the 21 teams that are part of this division in Eastern Andalusia will be divided. In this way, the UD Almería B team will compete in the first of these subgroups.

The chosen system, as explained by RFAF, is based on ‘closeness’. The Rojiblancos will be part of the largest subgroup, as it is made up of eleven teams, including two from the province of Almería, four from Granada and five from Jaén. The UD Almería Academy squad will face Real Jaén, Torredonjimeno, Atlético Mancha Real, Torreperogil CF and Atlético Porcuna from Jaén; Loja, Huétor Tájar, Maracena and Huétor Vega from Granada, while commitments within the province of Almería will be against Poli Almería.

Once the competition set-up is known, the next step will be the draw for the Tercera Division schedule with the matchdays pairings. The competition will be kicking off on 18th October. Thus, the fact that the subgroup 1 within group IX is made up of eleven clubs requires that each weekend, there will always be a side that will be able to have a break.
