Rubi: ‘We’ve created more scoring opportunities than the rivals’

The UD Almeria head coach acknowledges that his team players have to improve ‘when attacking such organised defences’

UD Almeria head coach Rubi reflected on the goalless draw in the post-Huesca presser ‘They’ve put in a great defensive job, but we’ve created more scoring opportunities with no reward’.

The Rojiblancos’ gaffer compared this situation with a match analysis in which his men did quite well in the opening forty-five minutes, highlighting ‘how well the team faced the game’ at the same time that he pointed out: ‘it’s true that we haven’t turn our chances into goals in the final third.’ Next, Rubi added that UD Almeria were seen ‘bossing things up front,’ in the second half without the head coach feeling happy with the final minutes: ‘Their disallowed goal left us a bit worried instead of encouraging us to shoot more high upfield,’ he stressed.

Rubi also stated that it is becoming common for rivals who visit the Mediterraneo to park the bus and place many footballers around the goal, a positive aspect that gives the Indalicos options to ‘create more danger than their rivals. On that note, Rubi shared his thoughts: ‘We have to improve a little when attacking against these well-organised defences.’
