Rubi: ‘We’re annoyed not to win and by how the victory escaped us’

The head coach regrets that Las Palmas scored on the only chance they created, since as he said ‘the defence didn’t suffer’

UD Almeria head coach Rubi acknowledged in the post-game presser at Juegos Mediterraneos ‘we’re annoyed and it feels bad’ not only ‘not having won,’ but also, as he specified, ‘how the victory escaped us.’

The islanders’ equaliser came in the last minute because a Rojiblanco defender slipped. ‘We played a great first half in which we were able to score a few more goals. It’s true that we didn’t put a good attacking display in the second, but the defence didn’t suffer,’ explained the Catalan head coach.

Rubi pointed out ‘adding point is always good, we’re still top on 19 points and it’s normal that there’re games in which things go wrong for you. We haven’t lost since we’ve taken on Ponferradina and we’ve managed to deal with our rivals.’

Rubi also regretted ‘the things that happened in the second half’ such as the injuries of two key players such as Ramazani and Robertone, who had to be substituted and also Chumi’s slip that led to the late goal from UD Las Palmas.

By the way, the UD Almería head coach spoke about the Belgian striker and the Argentinian midfielder and said ‘Tests will be carried out on Monday and we’ll see their injury assessments.’
