Óscar Fernández: ‘The collective mindset was vital to the success the team’

The UD Almeria ‘B’ gaffer admits that the knockout game against Huétor Tájar will be complicated and states that his squad are pumped for the match

Aware of the particular difficulty that next Sunday's knockout game has in store for UD Almería ‘B’ against Huétor Tájar, head coach Óscar Fernández stated: ‘The dressing room is calm and everybody knows that we’ve taken a huge step. It’ll be tough, but the boys are pumped to get through to the next round.’ He described the next opponents as ‘a side that plays well with clear ideas and is very talented.’ Not surprisingly, the players from Granada came second at the end of the regular season in the table.

The UDA Academy youth team products’ head coach highlighted the importance of his players having to remain ‘faithful to what they’ve done all year long,’ which led him to point out: ‘The collective mindset was vital to the success of the team. We must be clear about our goals.’

A big thank you goes out to the fans as Óscar Fernández feels particularly happy for the efforts that many of them are making to support the ‘B’ team next Sunday in Estepona: ‘What people do for UD Almería is praiseworthy and hopefully many of us can be there because together we’re stronger.’
