Newest addition Gonzalo Melero to reinforce midfield

The 28-year-old midfielder moves from Levante UD. The Madrid-born player has featured in more than 100 Primera Division official games

Gonzalo Melero becomes a new UD Almería player after the agreement reached with Levante UD with whom he had his current contract. The newest addition is a quality midfielder with as much extensive experience as other signings made in this summer transfer window such as Pacheco, Embarba and Léo Baptistão. The player is 28 years old, 1.83m tall and has featured in more than 100 games in the Spanish Primera Division, as well as many others in the Segunda Division. Now he signs a four-year deal with UD Almeria.

Gonzalo Melero Manzanares is a talented, hard-working midfielder with fancy footwork who reads the game well to attack effectively. He has ability to score goals and provide his team-mates with assists. In the last four seasons, he has played in the top tier of Spanish football, three of them with Levante UD and one with SD Huesca, where he coincided with head coach Rubi.

Gonzalo Melero Manzanares was born in Madrid on 2 January, 1994. He started out with Real Madrid CF Academy, playing for its ‘B’ team RM Castilla until he was signed by SD Ponferradina in the past 2014/15 season. In the 2016/17 campaign, he moved to SD Huesca and after three years at the Huesca-based team he signed for Levante UD in 2019/20 until June 2023 but now he is joining the Rojiblancos.
