Mónica Ruiz: ‘We’re satisfied with the Congress as the attendees left happy’

The UD Almeria Supporters Federation President stresses that the objectives of the three-day event were met

‘We’re satisfied with the assessment of the National Congress as the attendees congratulated us and left Almería happy which was the goal we were pursuing,’ explained UD Almeria Supporters Federation President Mónica Ruiz, who had organised the three-day National Congress of Supporters Clubs with the presence of 700 supporters from first and second tier Spanish clubs getting together in Almeria.

Mónica Ruiz stressed ‘the effort we’ve made has been worthwhile. I’d like to publicly thank the volunteers and supporters of UD Almería, who have been working selflessly so that everything turned out as planned.’ At the same time, she took advantage of the occasion to give a big shout-out to UD Almería, the institutions such as the Almeria City Council, Provincial Council [Diputacion] and Junta de Andalucía, as well as the local businesses that have collaborated, for the great support provided.

‘Many people had never been to Almería and those who came for the first time have left pleasantly surprised,’ said Mónica Ruiz.

The XVIII National Congress of Supporters Clubs kicked off last Friday with a reception at the Town Hall and a later visit and dinner at the distinctive landmark, La Alcazaba fortress. On Saturday, the major event took place at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium with the presence of LaLiga President Javier Tebas, representatives of the Club as well as members of the Almeria City Council, the Provincial Council and the Junta de Andalucia [Andalusian Government]. That same day there was a delicious lunch held at El Toyo followed up by a sightseeing tour around Almería city and the scenic cape of Cabo de Gata. Next, the visitors thoroughly enjoyed a tasty dinner and a fun live show in the western town of Fort Bravo before heading back to their hotels at night.

Last Sunday, the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium brought the curtain down where all the attendees took a family photo before having a farewell lunch at the El Toyo exhibition and conference centre.
