Mónica Ruiz: ‘We want the visiting supporters to leave Almería city happy’

The UDA Supporters Federation President talks about the significant forthcoming Congress which will be attended by LaLiga President Javier Tebas

‘We aren’t looking to host the best Congress ever; it isn’t about competing but about people who will be visiting us leaving Almería city feeling happy and eager to return to our land in the future,’  stated UD Almeria Supporters Federation Mónica Ruiz, who is in charge of organising the XVIII National Congress of Supporters Clubs that is going to take place this weekend in Almeria.

UD Almeria won the bid back in 2019 to host this significant event. Since then, the Rojiblancos supporters clubs began to work around the clock on an ambitious project that they had prepared to achieve the goal. From the first moment they counted on the strong support of the Club and the institutions with several local businesses collaborating afterwards. ‘Last November, we started to work on the organisation by addressing different aspects of such a significant congress,’ explained Mónica Ruiz to the Club’s official website. As a matter of fact, 700 keen supporters clubs from all over Spain are going to meet here and will stay from Friday in hotels in Almeria city and the nearby coastal towns of Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar. Meanwhile, the Congress itself, which will be attended by LaLiga President Javier Tebas, is taking place this Saturday at the Maestro Padilla Auditorium, however there will also be some other exciting scheduled activities in other parts of the province of Almeria with sightseeing tours around the picturesque Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park and the Fort Bravo West Village.

Mónica Ruiz pointed out ‘perhaps the most complicated thing is to coordinate the accommodation and transport. We’re going to provide more than 30 buses and there will be volunteers from our Supporters Clubs in each hotel and in each bus to be with the different delegations.’

Everybody has been working tirelessly as the UDA Supporters Clubs explained, ‘if those who visit us leave happy and eager to return to Almería, everything will have been worth it. We want to show our organisational capacity and that the visiting delegations get to know our land, our Club and its fans…’

To conclude, Ms Ruiz thank publicly institutions such as the Almería City Council, the Provincial Council and the Junta de Andalucía; as well as the Club and Cajamar Bank, Casi, Urci Hormigones, Viajes Alcazaba, Autocares Ramón del Pino, Sano, Serón City Council… because, as she underlined, ‘without their endorsement and unconditional support it would’ve been impossible to hold this Congress in Almería.’
