Keeper Jero Lario renews his contract until 2022 and leaves on loan to SD Logroñés

The Lorca-born goalkeeper will play next season in Segunda Division B, the third level of Spanish football system

UD Almería and SD Logroñés have reached a two-year agreement whereby Jero Lario will play for the team from La Rioja during the 2020/21 season. Previously, the goalkeeper native of Lorca renewed his contract with Almeria for two more years, although he will leave on loan so as to gain learning, learn from the pros and enhance his football career by defending his team’s goal in Segunda Division B matches (League one, EFL).

The 25-year-old keeper was one of the key pieces of Almería B during the past year. In fact, the goalie played 26 of the 29 matches that could take place before the regular league was halted over Covid-19. He played for Almeria B within group IX of Tercera Division (League two, EFL). At that time, his great performance allowed the Almeria B team to save some points and be on the brink of getting into the play-off for promotion.

Not in vain, his countless superb saves were essential to aid Fernand Santos’ homegrown players to be on a winning streak after fifteen match weeks without being defeated. In addition, the talented goalie has not only been a regular player who has been joining the first-team Almeria squad’s training sessions, but has also been included in the starting XI in LaLiga SmartBank.
