‘I will never forget in my life the experience of working with the first-team’
Goalie Lluís Tarrés moves from Almeria U-19s to Almeria B after having worked with the first-team since the 2019/20 season resumed
Lluís Tarrés has been ‘feeling great’ in the first training sessions with the Almería B squad. The goalkeeper will start playing for the UD Almeria B team in the next season after having defended his former youth team’s goal while competing in Division de Honor Juvenil, which is the top level of the Spanish football league system for youth players 18 years old and under. The youngster was able to enjoy the unforgettable experience of working together with the Almeria first-team squad players in the final phase of LaLiga SmartBank.
The 19-year-old goalie held an interesting conversation with the club’s official media and did not hesitate to answer what is the final goal of the Almeria’s second-team this year: ‘The objective is to get promoted and we’re going to do whatever it takes to achieve it.’ That being so, he stressed the need to ‘work as hard as we can and with great humility.’
The UD Almería Academy young keeper is fully aware that in the Eastern Andalusia group of Tercera (League two, EFL) ‘every game is really complicated’ and ‘teams have seasoned veterans who know well what they play.’ Thus, he is of the opinion that ‘scoring away from home is absolutely difficult.’
Lluís was one of the players in the limelight during the final stretch of the 2019/20 season after joining Fernando, Sivera and Jero in several training sessions and team rosters for UD Almería in LaLiga SmartBank. In this sense, the Catalan expressed his sheer happiness: ‘It has been a real pleasure to work with them. The fact that I’m getting to know these pro goalkeepers is really cool and what’s more, having the opportunity to work with them.’
Without a doubt, having been another member of the UD Almeria first-team ‘has been definitely a unique experience’ for the goalkeeper. ‘I will never forget it in my life and I’ve learned loads in all the training sessions. They have given me some good advice too and the truth is that It has been a great pleasure meeting and learning so much from them’, he concluded.
