Gritty UD Almería 'B' go from 3-0 down to 3-2 against Huétor Vega
The Academy prospects failed to level matters in a game that they started trailing 3-0. Avelino slotted home inside 81 minutes and Mariano after 90 minutes.
UD Almería 'B' lost a game in which they were not successful since their rivals took advantage of all the chances they created and in the 60th minute, they were on the front foot 3-0. The youthful Rojiblancos came close to snatching a point with goals courtesy of Avelino and Marciano, but failed to level matters, conceding their first defeat of the season.
The match began with countless chances squandered by both sides and although the two teams tried their hardest to impose their game and football, it seemed that there was no way to open the scoring. No clear-cut chance came in the opening 15 minutes, but after this first quarter of an hour, Salvatierra stroked in the opener from Marcos Toro's excellent pass. Óscar Fernández's boys thus conceded their first goal in the competition after 140 minutes keeping a clean sheet.
The 'B' team Rojiblancos started to fashion chances in a bid to equalise before the interval. The team did their best, but finally the break was reached with the hosts leading (1-0).
The second half started very well for the Granada-based squad since in the 50th minute they doubled their lead (2-0) with another goal from Salvatierra and shortly after peer Óscar García fired home the third (3-0).
UD Almería 'B' made a triple change in the Starting XI, Hugo Neves, Lokosa and Avelino came on for Pedro, Rafa Núñez and Bian. With 81 minutes on the clock, Avelino pulled one back (3-1). Next, Marciano slotted home the visitors' second with an eye to stage a successful comeback that will enable them to come away with one point at least from their trip (3-2).
The thing is that they would not score any more goals and the game ended with the first disappointing defeat of the season for a gritty UD Almeria 'B' team.
