Almería B kick off new pre-season after the return to play protocols have been approved

The B team begin to exercise this Tuesday, at 8.30 a.m., at Vega de Acá training ground

Almería B finally have a schedule for their return to training. The homegrown players from the Almeria Academy will head to the Vega de Acá training ground this Tuesday, 25th August, at 8:30 a.m. Their first preparation footie session for the 2020/21 season is on the verge of kicking off before the Rojiblancos will once again compete in the Eastern Andalusia group of Tercera, which is the fourth level -League Two (EFL)- of the Spanish football system.

Precisely, the return of Fernando Santos’ (‘Nadinho’) youngsters, coincides with the medical protocols approval by the Real Federación Andaluza de Fútbol (Andalusian Football Federation) so that all the Segunda B -League one (EFL)- and Tercera Division -League two (EFL)- football clubs - amongst other categories – have been given the go-ahead to return to training.

The Almeria Academy players, who have just passed the medical tests, will have to exercise under a series of health and safety measures. The players will not be able to use changing rooms, they will arrive at the facilities already dressed in training wear, they must wear face masks at all times until the exact moment of jumping onto the training pitch and they will not maintain direct contact beyond kicking and passing the ball. In addition, RFAF reported that friendly matches will not be authorised, at least for now.

While waiting to learn whether the group in which Almería B will compete is fully developed with its 21 teams or, on the contrary, it is necessary to create subgroups, the homegrown players from Almería return to the fold having a double intention: to improve the B team members’ physical fitness towards joining the first-team training sessions and secondly, to achieve optimal preparation for the competitive phase.
