1-0: UD Almeria ‘B’ will have to wait to be assured of presence in play-offs

The UDA Academy Rojiblancos played sluggishly and were edged out by UD Torre del Mar

The UD Almería ‘B’ lads will have to wait to virtually be assured of their presence in the play-offs for promotion to the Segunda Division RFEF. The youthful Rojiblancos were edged out by UD Torre del Mar away from home in a match in which they played sluggishly, creating few chances after the hosts’ 6-minute opener. The ‘B’ team prospects from UD Almeria, who had an advantage within the VIP zone, will have to continue fighting to achieve their goal.

The UDA Academy lads were slow out of the traps from the off since Óscar Fernández’s youth side were taken aback after the boys from Torre del Mar rushed the defence and then their attacking players cranked up the pressure to beat goalie Diego Fuoli inside 6 minutes.

From there, UD Almería ‘B’ tried hard to grab an equaliser but they did not manage to play somebody in, so the visitors were trailing by one point at the break (1-0).

The young Indalicos went all out to create danger in front of the Torre del Mar goal in the first minutes of the second half, yet they did not end up producing worthwhile goal-scoring opportunities for the tie to come. After the full-time whistle, the UDA Academy products will have to continue fighting to officially be a team who will enter the play-offs for promotion to the higher tier.
