0-4: Almeria ‘B’ thrash CD Intergym Melilla to take 3 points home

The UDA Academy prospects beat the hosts and obtained the first victory of 2022. Marciano debuts grabbing a superb brace

The UD Almería ‘B’ boys thrashed CD Intergym Melilla after producing a brilliant display from the off. Lokosa was in charge of opening the scoring and began a phase with numerous attacking actions by the youthful Indálicos, who sealed the win through a superb brace from Marciano —who made a spectacular debut— and Kevin Bautista. The youth squad achieved the first win of 2022, thanks to those four goals that helped them forget about the harsh defeat to Huétor Tájar.

Head coach Óscar Fernández recovered some troops for the away game on the North coast of Africa, so there were new faces both in the starting XI and in the squad list. Fuoli —who sat last Wednesday’s fixture— Vertiz, Ginés, Cuenca, Fermín, Aitor Puñal, Kevin, Sylla, Hugo Neves, Rojas and Lokosa started. These last two returned after serving a one-game ban.

Almería ‘B’ did not wait too long to enjoy the first clear-cut opportunities. With 21 minutes gone, Lokosa opened the scoring by slotting home a great assist from Rojas. Previously, the Nigerian attacker had already warned that the goal could come soon with a shot that was close to finishing in the back of the net.

The visitors were 0-1 up after half an hour. Marciano's debut with the shirt of the UDA Academy team as the Guinea Bissau native footballer had to replace Hugo Neves, who was complaining of discomfort. The debutant only needed 3 minutes to show why he is a promising UD Almeria player because the first ball he got at his feet was transformed into 0-2, while immediately afterwards he nearly scored his second.

Before the arrival of half-time, it was Rojas who tested the reflexes of the Melilla goalkeeper to do his very best save another goal, a goalie who also had to appear after the restart to block Fermín’s shot and who breathed calmly when he saw that the ball left brushing the post in a new brave attempt by Lokosa. The UD Almería ‘B’ team players lorded it over.

Latest signing Marciano was on fire. The attacker made a wonderful debut with the red and white shirt. He took advantage of a new chance beating Jhonny on 51 minutes. The result was already 0-3, although shortly after Kevin Bautista sealed the win with 0-4 slamming in the fourth.

This is how UD Almería ‘B’ clinched their first victory of 2022, which allows Óscar Fernández's boys to forget about last Wednesday's defeat, on the one hand, and on the other hand, keep up with the pace at the top of the incomplete table as the UD Almeria prospects and some other teams have games in hand as they were postponed because of Covid-19.
