‘We’ve missed a game that if it was played ten times, we would’ve won nine’

Rubi stated that his team has to ‘improve against the clock’ as there are 15 days ahead to reach the end of the season and start the play-offs

UD Almería and Albacete Balompie shared the spoils under the Juegos Mediterraneos spotlights because the Rojiblancos rued missed chances, a fact that led head coach Rubi to leave the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium with the feeling that ‘if this match was played ten times, we would’ve won nine.’ The Catalan added: ‘We’ve not been lucky.’

The UD Almeria gaffer reflected on the game at the post-game presser and stressed that his team ‘has to improve against the clock’ because there are only ‘fifteen days left to finish the season and start the play-offs.’ For this reason, the boss believes that it is essential to sort out the defensive errors that usually make it very easy for the Indalicos’ adversaries. ‘I prefer that they shoot two or three times at goal (as the visitors did) and not ten because this is the way to try to keep clean sheets,’ the 51-year-old said.

Head coach Rubi praised the adversaries from the region of La Mancha by concluding: ‘They’ve make a huge effort and that has given them the reward of snatching a point.’
