‘We will continue working hard towards our goal and we will see what we achieve in the end’

Mohamed El Assy said that ‘we accept LaLiga's decisions although we stand up for the idea of treating all clubs equally’.

Mohamed El Assy, the UD Almería’s CEO, has spoken to the media after the presentation of David Costas as a new rojiblanco player. He answered all the questions about the club’s latest current affairs:

Financial fair play (FFP): ‘We accept LaLiga's decisions. They will be no money exchanged for these transfers. In my opinion, this is unfair because other teams are treated differently. We don't want to say the exact amount of money. For example, Girona FC have sold players to Manchester City; Girona reduced their wage bill, even though both clubs are part of the same business conglomerate. On the other hand, we have sold a player to the Arab Emirates and LaLiga have devalued it, because according to them, we are taking advantage of this situation; none of the teams belong to the country where the club’s capital comes from. The new sponsors have evaluated it as zero euros, when those same advertisers have sponsored Supercopa de España. We will continue working hard towards our goal and we will see what we achieve in the end’.

UD Almeria under close scrutiny? ‘The rest of the teams are putting a lot of pressure on LaLiga and LaLiga have to show that they are controlling us. We would rather be under close scrutiny so we can prove that all our moves are clear. The problem is that this should be applied to every team in the League’.

Can these statements harm anyone? ‘We are only sticking to answer all your questions, I do not mean to hit back at anyone. I am just answering your questions. I insist, we accept LaLiga's decisions and also recognize that this competition is not easy to lead’.

January Transfer Market: ‘Anything can happen with Almeria, so stay-tuned!’.

About the last post-match press conference, ‘I think José María Gutiérrez was talking in general, not about someone in particular. He did not mean that there was someone against us.

Turki Al-Sheikh's health status: ‘Everything is going very well; He had an operation in the United States. Thanks for asking’.
