‘We have to get back on our feet and now focus on the play-offs’
Mario Silva considers that it is not time to throw in the towel, yet to continue fighting for the club’s goal
Mario Silva, after acknowledging that ‘we are sad’ as a result of the disappointing defeat against Ponferradina and saying goodbye to automatic promotion, recalled that there is still ‘one more place’ and in the dressing room they are determined to fight for it. Thus, he underlined: ‘We tried our hardest until the end today, but we have not succeeded. We have to get back on our feet and now focus on the play-offs.’
The member of the UD Almería coaching staff gave his first impressions after the fixture and pointed out that they got the feeling that the Rojiblancos were ‘superior in the first-half and evenly matched in the second half’, although ‘the squad missed scoring opportunities.’ As the Portuguese reflected, the rivals did not miss those.
Mario Silva insisted that he is not giving up and is fully committed to reaching the club’s goal, just like the footballers. ‘I do not throw in the towel’, exclaimed the head coach.
