UD Almería bring holiday cheer to hospitalised children at Torrecárdenas
Players and staff deliver gifts and warmth in heartfelt visit to local University Hospital
UD Almería continued one of their most cherished holiday traditions this Monday, visiting Torrecárdenas University Hospital to bring joy to children hospitalised during the festive season. The Rojiblancos made the trip to the hospital with the goal of spreading cheer, delivering gifts and offering emotional support to the young patients.
Co-captains Fernando and Embarba, alongside team-mates Andrés Fernández, Álex Muñoz, Aridane and Gui Guedes, represented the first team during the visit. They were joined by UD Almería Women’s Paqui Campoy and Lucía, as well as Club Sports Advisor João Gonzalves. The group was warmly welcomed by the hospital’s managing director Manuel Vida and deputy director Felipe Cañadas, along with other staff members.
For UD Almería, the visit to Torrecárdenas is more than just a charitable gesture, it is a chance to connect with the families and children, offering them a sense of comfort and joy as the holiday season approaches. The players spent time interacting with the children in their rooms and play areas, signing autographs and gifting various items, including UD Almería jerseys, scarves, plushies and other surprises.
Goalkeeper Andrés Fernández, who was visiting Torrecárdenas for the first time, reflected on the emotional impact of the visit: ‘For us, it’s a wonderful experience to bring them some joy and make them smile. We’re here to support them and encourage them, but they and their families give us their strong support to achieve our goals. These are very emotional moments.’
