International break: Almost back to full strength

Cipenga has already trained with his team-mates, while Quim will join the squad on Friday. Dzódic remains with Serbia’s senior national team

UD Almería have almost completed the return of the 3 players who were away on international duty during the latest break in domestic competition. Cipenga and Quim have now returned to training under UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta, while Dzódic will have to wait a little longer before rejoining the squad.

Brian Cipenga trained with his team-mates this Thursday after featuring in two international matches for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The forward played 31 minutes against Equatorial Guinea and 45 minutes against Zimbabwe, with both matches being official fixtures in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

As for Quim Junyent, who made his Spain U20 debut on Wednesday, he arrived back in Almería at midday and will take part in his first training session with his team-mates on Friday. The young midfielder, who recently became a European U19 champion, started the friendly against Mexico and played 53 minutes.

This means that Stefan Dzódic is the only player who remains away on international duty and as a result will miss the upcoming match against Burgos CF. The midfielder is currently with Serbia’s senior national team competing in the UEFA Nations League and will not return to the squad until next week.

Meanwhile, UD Almería continue to prepare for Saturday’s fixture, with Thursday’s session taking place behind closed doors at the training ground. Friday will see the team complete their final training session ahead of the match.
