Vicente Moreno introduces his backroom team
The UD Almería gaffer states that a head coach is nobody without his coaching staff and also that they double the hours spent on the pitch in the office
As Vicente Moreno prepares to take charge of his first official game as UD Almeria head coach, the backroom staff who will be assisting him at the Power Horse Stadium have been confirmed. 'A head coach is nobody without his coaching staff,' said UD Almería head coach in an interview with the Club's official media to get to know the members of his backroom team. As he explained, 'the head coach is always more exposed and face the consequences, while the others are behind, but they're of vital importance in the career of the head coach and in the future of a club.'
Practically from the beginning of Vicente Moreno's career as a head coach, second coach Dani Pendín has been always next to him 'who was my team-mate at Xerez when we were players back in the day,' and strength and conditioning coach Dani Pastor, 'who was in Russia at Zenit.'
The trio have been working hand in hand for 8 seasons.
Jesús Salvador is the goalkeeper coach: 'He's rejoined our coaching team. He wasn't with us in Saudi Arabia, although he was working for Espanyol in Barcelona, where I met him. I was lucky to meet him on the road and when we were able he joined us because you always want to have the best professionals by your side.'
Next, Ramón Alturo 'whom we also met at RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. He's in charge of the performance analysis within the coaching process among other tasks and he's also a coach assistant. I was also lucky to meet him in my career as a head coach.'
As for José Luis Deus, he is a first team and rivals analyst 'who was with us in Saudi Arabia last season after not being together for a while, since we coincided some years ago at Tarragona Gymnastics. In addition to his role as an analyst, he's the one who flies the drones that we have to visualise in a more panoramic way the training sessions and friendly matches.'
Moreover, there are two in-house conditioning coaches, Ricardo Molina and Víctor Fortes: 'For me, it's essential to get on with the people you meet when you move to a new club because they make the integration process and learning about the idiosyncrasies of the club and the city much easier. The two of them have done great so far. Richi helps Jesús Salvador with the goalkeepers' training and also performs analytical work. Víctor supports Dani Pastor in the physical fitness aspect and he is in charge of the performance and GPS trackers.'
'This whole team spends a lot of time together because we double the amount of hours spent on the pitch in the office to plan, analyse and draw conclusions every day,' Vicente Moreno concluded.
