García Pimienta: 'Brave, aggressive and composed'

The UD Almería head coach has outlined the key factors ahead of the Club's Matchday 2 fixture at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium in Tenerife, stressing the importance of maintaining his team's identity both at home and away

'If we want to achieve big things, we have to do things well both at home and away. There is no other way. We must continue being just as brave, aggressive and composed, regardless of where we play.'

The Barcelona native also highlighted the quality of the opposition and the challenge that awaits the team: 'CD Tenerife are very tough opponents and a club with a great history. They have returned to the professional game through the front door and they have a brilliant head coach. The amount of time they've been working together makes them even more difficult to face because their style is very well established.'

García Pimienta also identified the key areas that could decide the match: 'We must be at 110% if we want to take all 3 points. That means staying focused, being brave and playing our football, with the verticality we want. We'll also have to know how to suffer because there will be a great atmosphere. It's their first league match at home since their promotion, and they'll be full of confidence after a strong and convincing win away from home.'

The gaffer also spoke about his relationship with the supporters and explained his gesture towards the fans following the opening-fixture victory: 'The players are the important ones, but when I saw 16,000 supporters in the Stadium, giving everything and celebrating the victory, I felt I had to go over to the stand, greet them and dedicate the win to them.'
