The UD Almería head coach analyses Burgos CF and highlights their strong run of form 'both in terms of results and performances'. The gaffer warns of the opponents' attacking threat
UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta has previewed Saturday's game, describing the opposition as follows: 'We have a difficult game against Burgos CF because they're coming into it in great form. And I'm not just talking about their results, although those are important too; they're also playing good football. Their run is not just about the scorelines. Burgos CF have strengths and plenty of tactics in their favour.' The head coach expects 'a long game'.
On that note, Garcia Pimienta explained: 'We're used to seeing a different type of Burgos CF in previous seasons, but under Sergio Francisco they offer a high level of competitiveness while playing more with the ball. They don't shy away from that and they build from the back to try to play vertically. They also have wingers who attack the defensive lines very aggressively.'
The gaffer also highlighted 'the comeback they produced against UD Las Palmas' and warned that 'if we want to win the game, we will have to be at 100% at all times'.
UD Almería are currently on a run of 4 consecutive victories, but García Pimienta is focused on the present: 'We have to earn the right to fight for important things. And that will be when there are 4 or 5 games remaining.' The Barcelona native praised the supporters and hopes they continue enjoying their team as they have done so far, 'because they deserve everything'.
Among the other topics discussed in the pre-match press conference was the team's style of play. 'We still have a lot of room for improvement because we are building a playing model. I'd like us to improve our organisation when we have the ball,' he said.
The UD Almería head coach also confirmed the return of Cipenga and Quim following their respective international fixtures.
