UD Almería will host top-flight team in Spanish Cup third-round

Next Monday, the Rojiblancos will find out their opponents in the round of 32 tie of the Cup tournament that will be played on 3/4/5 January

UD Almería will have to take on top-flight opponents at home in the Spanish Cup third-round on 3/4/5 January. The round of 32 will also be played as a single-legged tie as in the previous knocked stages. After knocking  fourth-tier side UD San Sebastián de los Reyes out as well as third-tier Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, now the opponents will belong to the top division of Spanish football.
 
The pairing draw is held at 1pm on Monday with 32 teams in the different pots. As established in the competition regulations, the four teams competing in the Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid CF, FC Barcelona, ​​​​Athletic Club de Bilbao and RCD Mallorca will face the two lowest tier teams; the four  from the fourth-tier Segunda RFEF, which are UD Barbastro, Pontevedra CF, UD Logroñés and CD Minera (Murcia).
 
From the third-tier Primera RFEF, Ourense CF, Marbella FC and SD Ponferradina have entered the Cup third-round, who will have 3 of the 12 top-division clubs as adversaries. The remaining 9 will be paired with those still in the Segunda division contention, including UD Almería. The opposition will be one of these teams: Real Celta de Vigo, UD Las Palmas, Real Valladolid, Real Betis, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia CF, CD Leganés, Atlético de Madrid, CA Osasuna, Getafe CF, Sevilla FC and Real Sociedad.
