UD Almería unveil spectacular Sports Complex project

The Club presents what its Academy will be like in an event held in the Stadium VIP box. Mohamed El Assy describes the facilities as 'top-class in Europe' and Mayoress María del Mar Vázquez highlights the Club's total commitment to the city. It will be built on a 132,000 m² plot of land in 'El Toyo' with an investment of €13m. There will be 8 football pitches including a stadium

UD Almería have officially presented the project for their future Sports Complex which is extremely ambitious and spectacular. In fact, it will be built in a strategic location called 'El Toyo' in an area of ​​132,000 m² and an investment in its execution of €13m. There will be up to 8 football pitches, including a covered stadium for just over 3,500 spectators; other sports facilities such as a large and complete gym, offices and two buildings with bedrooms for the first team and another for the Academy. 
 
The project, which was meant to be presented on the same land where the Sports Complex will be built, was finally carried out in the Stadium due to adverse weather in recent days. At this event, UDA Managing Director Mohamed El Assy did not hesitate to state: 'It's the most ambitious project that Turki Alalshikh planned when he acquired the Club and it will be top-class in Europe.' The CEO also stressed that it will be a legacy of the Saudi minister and the Club for the entire city and province of Almería and also highlighted what it will entail not only on a sporting level but also economically since, as he explained: 'Many football stars will surely emerge.' 
 
Mr El Assy said that without the huge effort and total commitment of Turki Alalshikh it would be impossible to carry out this project given its magnitude and he expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the City Council, its councillors and employees, with a special mention to Mayoress María del Mar Vázquez for her unconditional support of the project to move forward.
 
'I'd like to once again thank Unión Deportiva Almería, its President Turki Alalshikh, Managing Director Mohamed El Assy and the entire football team for their full commitment to linking with our City and their willingness to continue making it the setting for ambitious future projects,' María del Mar Vázquez indicated. 
 
'The infrastructure for the future that will expand the training base of our Sports Complex model and that will allow, in the medium term, athletes of the highest professional level grow,' the Mayoress said. Moreover, she announced: :'In order to promote its development and once it's been verified that all the previous conditions of job creation capacity and level of investment are met, at the City Council we're going to launch for the first time the Project Accelerator Unit to expedite the administrative processing of the project to the maximum.' In fact, it will be taken to the plenary session in the imminent month of February.
 
The UD Almería Sports Complex project was presented in the Stadium VIP box room where 50 guests gathered, including the Government of Andalusia delegate in Almería, Aránzazu Martín; the regional Sports delegate, Juan José Alonso; Councillors Eloisa Cabrera, of Sports Urban Planning, as well as Antonio Jesús Casimiro and the provincial deputy José Antonio García.
