Arnau Puigmal wrongly arrested over misunderstanding due to change of address

The UD Almería central midfielder was released after clarifying things before the judicial authority. All because of a driving licence which was not approved due to Brexit

UD Almería would like to make an awareness for the reason why central midfielder Arnau Puigmal was arrested. That has been none other than a mere misunderstanding caused by a change of address in Spain that prevented the Court from summoning him through the usual channels for a question regarding his driving license.

When he returned from the United Kingdom to Spain after Brexit, the 22-year-old was absolutely unaware of the need to exchange his British permit, which was previously European, for a Spanish one, and after a routine control in which the Police indicated the above, he immediately proceeded to obtain the driver's license in Spain, with which he drives legally today.

The arrest has been solely motivated by the lack of knowledge of his new address on the part of the Spanish Court, which issued a request to find him and that once at the disposal of the judicial authority he has explained these facts and has been immediately released.
