Umar Sadiq joins Rojiblancos training after putting pen to paper

The new Almería striker worked out for a few minutes after experiencing slight discomfort. The squad are back at the Anexo training ground.

Almería resumed training after taking a day off last Monday, and they did so with the presence of the second-to-last signing made before the summer 2020 transfer window’s deadline, the Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq, who has been the highlight of Tuesday’s football practice.

The footballer acquired from Belgrade-based club FK Partizan exercised just for a few minutes as he experienced slight ankle discomfort from a kick suffered during the last match played with his former Serbian team. It is not a bid deal, though.

It has been two and a half months since the Rojiblancos last trained at the Anexo training ground. This football pitch will now be the usual squad’s workplace. It was an active recovery day for those players who played the most minutes against Sporting de Gijón last Sunday, and a much more intense training session for the rest of their team-mates.

Bear in mind that Akieme is available again after serving one-game suspension. Makaridze, Maraš and Cuenca are away joining their respective homeland teams. Right-winger Appiah is still exercising on the sidelines whilst he is recovering from surgery following abdominal pain during the team’s pre-season training camp in Marbella.

All training sessions will take place in the morning until Friday at the Anexo training ground. Meanwhile, the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium is changing its grass, which will be ready to step on it again for the next home game against neighbouring team Cartagena, on 20th, 21st or 22nd October.
