Umar Sadiq: 'I have a good feeling about this season'

The striker confesses that he is getting used to UD Almería and Spanish football

The club in-house media caught up with the striker and although Umar Sadiq acknowledged that his sporting start as a Rojiblanco in Almería ‘was difficult as there were many new players’, he stressed that the Almeria footballers are becoming ‘more and more confident’. He added: ‘We’re working hard and this is helping us make a fresh start to achieve positive results.’

The Nigerian forward feels that he is becoming familiar with the Almeria team. Hence, he had to adapt to the Spanish football style in which, as he commented, ‘you play a lot to keep the ball’ and therefore, in his opinion, the daily effort in training will be key to feeling more comfortable.

Umar Sadiq is contributing a lot to the Rojiblancos’ attack, especially within team game, a fact that has led him to stress: ‘I like to create a good atmosphere and help us all grow because everything  will be for the good of the team in the end.’

Having said that, the No. '9' made it clear: ‘I’ll never be satisfied. The important thing is to be hungry for goals and I did fail twice before.’ At the same time, while he referred to the fact that he was really happy after scoring, he expressed his thought that ‘it’ll never be enough.’

With regard to the goal celebration, he shared with the press his chat with Iván Balliu. He told me: 'calm down, you're doing very well, we're getting there.’ I answered truthfully: ‘yes, but we have to keep pushing to meet the objectives.’
