UD Almería work up a sweat in training
Head coach Gaizka Garitano counted 26 players in the football practice held at the Anexo training pitch including the three internationals who have just got back from competing in the AFCON
The UD Almería first-team players have set their sights on Saturday's match against Valencia CF. They have completed a demanding football practice with the participation of 26 players. It must be taken into account that the squad has increased in numbers with the two January transfer window's additions (Radovanović and Luka Romero) and the 3 African internationals who have also rejoined preparations: Mendes, Marciano and Baba.
Spanish clubs are obliged to submit a squad list with a maximum of 25 players after each transfer window closes. The UD Almería squad currently has 25 members, plus the 4 UD Almería 'B' youngsters (Marezi, Marciano, Šviderský and Luka Romero) who are training regularly with the senior group. In total 29 players, whom we must subtract the 3 injured, Luis Suárez, Koné and Arnau Puigmal.
The 26 players available for head coach Gaizka Garitano have worked out before taking to the pitch of the Anexo training ground in the gym with strength exercises, apart from having a video session. Subsequently, training on the green has been characterised by its intensity and full focus on different aspects of their game. The players have spent almost two hours doing physical exercises, as well as to perfect tactics, with special emphasis on defense and finishing drills.
At the end of the session, Lopy left due to slight discomfort. The team will be put through their paces again behind closed doors the next few days until Friday, the day they will head out to Valencia city in the afternoon.
