UD Almería want to sleep on Friday night as LaLiga SmartBank leaders
The Rojiblancos are looking for their 4th consecutive win, although they are fully aware of the difficulties they will encounter against visitors CF Fuenlabrada
UD Almería will be taking on CF Fuenlabrada this Friday at 9pm (CET) on home soil. The next match will be the first one to be played on Matchday 29 and therefore, UD Almeria want to take advantage of it and go to bed as leaders of the second tier competition since they are only one point behind the current pace-setters SD Eibar.
It would be a provisional lead for the Indalicos , however one thing is for sure: neither SD Eibar would have a good night’s sleep nor would promotion-hunting CD Tenerife and Real Valladolid CF, who are 3 points adrift of UD Almeria.
In the event of another victory, Rubi’s men would strike a purple patch thanks to their 4th consecutive win, something that would boost their confidence at a time in the league in which the Rojiblancos seem to be down on their luck yet again following the latest injuries. Chumi and Juanjo Nieto have just undergone successful surgeries; Robertone will spend around 5 weeks nursing a hamstring injury and on top of that César de la Hoz will sixt out the next game through a one-game suspension.
UD Almería have found stability although they are keenly aware that this Friday is not going to be easy at all; just the opposite. In fact, the players from Almeria do not want to take their next opponents for granted, who are in relegation spots. Some of their strenghts are the following: a solid defence, a couple of clean sheets against Real Valladolid CF and SD Eibar and the fact that they have shored up well in the January transfer window. It is difficult for CF Fuenlabrada to score but at the same time, it is very complicated to score a goal against the Madrid-based outfit.
The Rojiblancos have attended one last behind-closed-doors practice this Thursday evening. The team will get together before the game at noon this Friday waiting to face the match under the Mediterraneo’ lights.
