UD Almería U19 A looking to make it to the Spanish Cup U19 tournament
The UDA Academy prospects visit La Cañada at 6pm local time on Sunday with the main objective of securing a stab for the exciting Spanish tournament
The UD Almería Under-19s 'A' will play the Almeria derby at 6pm local time this Sunday at the La Cañada Sports complex on the penultimate Matchday before the end of the first half of the season. In other words, the penultimate opportunity to make it to the Copa del Rey U19. The lads occupy 5th position with 26 points and are just one point behind the third-placed Cádiz CF U19, with San Félix being the fourth ranked side level on points with the Cádiz team.
The match against La Cañada, who sit 16th only one point away from the drop zone, seems key for the young Rojiblancos who, if they happen to win, and if their direct rivals do not do so, would nearly secure a Spanish Cup U19 stab waiting to welcome Sevilla FC U19, undefeated leaders, on the last Matchday of the first half of the campaign. The format of the competition includes the four first-place toppers in each group and the four best fifth-place sides. Right now, UD Almería U19 meet this last requirement.
The fixtures for the rest of the UD Almería Academy youth teams are the following:
-UD Almería U19 'B' vs Málaga CF. Sunday at 12 noon (Francisco Pomedio).
-UD Almería U16 'B' vs CD San Félix. Saturday at 4pm (Los Pinos).
-UD Almería U14 'A' vs Granada CF. Saturday at 4pm (Los Pinos).
-CN Almería vs UD Almería U12 'A'. Saturday at 6pm (Club Natación).
-UD Almería U16 'A' played their match against Real Betis last Wednesday and lost 0-2.
-UD Almería U12 'B' played away from home against Atlético Macael last Tuesday, winning 0-2 and UD Almería U14 'B' thrashed El Alquián 0-13 last Tuesday.
