UD Almería U12s 'A' will take on the best teams in LaLiga FC XXXI Futures

The UDA Academy products participate this weekend in one of the most prestigious Academy tournaments. It will be held in La Cerámica Stadium against teams with the likes of FC Barcelona or Real Betis

UD Almería under-12s 'A' are ready to participate in the LaLiga FC Futures XXI, an exciting tournament promoted by the José Ramón de la Morena Foundation. This year, the event will take place in Vila-real 7-9 June at the La Cerámica stadium and will be attended by the 20 Spanish teams that make up the EA Sports LaLiga. 

The U12 'A' Rojiblancos youth side's matches can be watched live via www.udalmeriasad.com. The Club cheerish a special memory of this competition, especially from 2009, when in their first participation they reached the final and battle it out for the title until the very last minute against FC Barcelona. That memorable performance remains an inspiration for the Club's young promises. However, the road will not be easy. The UDA Under-12s have been placed in a difficult group in which they will face FC Barcelona U12, ​​Real Betis Balompié U12, UD Las Palmas U12 and Getafe CF U12. 

The schedule of this tournament for the UD Almería Academy products is as follows: 

Friday, 7 June: Getafe CF vs UD Almería U12 (KO 11am); Real Betis vs UD Almería U12 (KO 6:30pm)

Saturday, 8 June: FC Barcelona vs UD Almería (KO 11am Broadcast on Gol TV); UD Las Palmas vs UD Almería U12 (KO 1pm). 

UD Almería Academy coordinator Ibán Andrés highlighted when talking to the official media the participation of the young Indálicos in this tournament: 'For the Club, it's very important since only the 20 Primera Division Academies take part so I'm really proud to participate with the best in Spain and in addition, it's the most traditional tournament at the national level.' He then explained: 'Players such as Iniesta, Fernando Torres and Carvajal have passed through this tournament, footballers who have all ended up in the elite. We're talking about the best players of that age at the national level.'

Beyond the competitive aspect, Ibán Andrés underlines: 'We'll greatly enjoy, the players are going to feel professional and we'll be immersed in a professional environment in a great Stadium (La Cerámica, Villarreal CF); the youngsters will stay in hotels with their team-mates… they'll remember it for their rest of their lives.'

'It'll be an exciting conclusion to the UD Almería U12s 'A' season, which has been magnificent since we were at the top until the penultimate Matchday playing for the title in the most demanding and highest tier of under-12s at the national level, which is the Andalusia group. It's a reward for the scintillating campaign they have had,' he concluded.
