After the Almeria City Council put it out to tender last April, only the UDA has presented their project, which will follow the procedures to start the stadium and football pitch redevelopment investing more than 15 million euros.
In this way, the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium will become one of the icons of Almeria city in order to boost sport and elite football in particular. In addition, it will be approved for major international events within the fervent, collective hopes of seeing the UD Almería team compete in top-flight LaLiga Santander.
The Almeria Sports Council to approved this Monday the specifications of the economic-administrative conditions and the technical project in a virtual meeting.
The UD Almería project is structured in two phases and six-step course of action. The first phase will involve a modernisation of the internal infrastructures in terms of changing rooms, offices, VIP room, store, etc. The main transformation will take place outside, changing the façade in the UD Almeria’s distinctive red colour including the coat of arms of Almeria city. The second phase will be based on lowering the football pitch, expanding the capacity of the stands and the creation of an events room.
