The players will take medicals before. The Jerez-based Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Sports Resort hosts the team’s pre-season training camp (23 July-2 August)
UD Almeria ended a stellar 2021/22 season in the most befitting manner. The Rojiblancos showcased silverware in a terrific fun open-top bus parade through the streets of Almeria and had a big bash at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium to celebrate with thousands of fans buzzing, but now there are pre-season plans afoot ahead of the next 2022/23 football season, in which the newly promoted first team will once again play in the top-flight Primera Division. Training is to start on Sunday, 10th July at the Mediterráneo, although the players will previously be taking their medicals and fitness tests on the 8-9 July.
The Rojiblancos will be away in the West of Andalusia for their pre-season training camp from Saturday, 23 July to Tuesday, 2 August at the Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Sports Resort located in Jerez de la Frontera, very close to Spanish circuit Jerez de la Frontera. The squad will be able to get match fit in an ideal way and with complete peace of mind since the sports complex has the essential features for it. It has three football pitches, the five-star hotel has a gym, spa... and many other facilities that the footballers need to train comfortably. Later, in the final stretch prior to the LaLiga Santander kick-off, the team will step up their league preparations in Almeria.
There will be 7 pre-season friendlies to get prepared for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign. The first of them has been arranged for Sunday, 17 July in Almeria if all goes according to plan. During the pre-season training camp, 4 more friendly games will be played: Córdoba CF are expected to be the first summer opponents as soon as they arrive in Jerez de La Frontera on 23rd July while the following games have been scheduled for 24-29-30 July. Another two games are highly likely to be played on 5-6 August, a week before the LaLiga Santander season begins.
