UD Almeria stand out from the crowd

The rojiblancos did not win an away match since the 5th matchday and did not win two consecutive matches since the 6th matchday. The team are reinforced from the 18th matchday.

The victory achieved by Almeria in Tenerife has served for the rojiblancos to stand out from the crowd and come back to reclaim prominence in the SmartBank League, where they remain as second classified, in direct promotion zone to the First Division.

In this sense, it should be stressed that the UD Almeria team did not win at home since the 5th matchday of the championship, when they beat UD Las Palmas by 0-3, also in the Canary Islands. The team did not win two consecutive matches since the 6th matchday after beating Girona at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium. Then they won four matches in a row: Huesca, Málaga, Las Palmas and Girona.

On another note, UD Almeria has emerged strengthened from the 18th round of the League, because although Huesca and Fuenlabrada have also won their matches, the UD Almeria is behind only 7 points from Cadiz. The rojiblancos have the same points as the oscenses (32), while the Fuenlabreños have with 31. The rest of the teams are 3,4 and 5 points away from there.

In addition, Almeria is already the only team with the least losses in the category (2), because Cádiz lost in Fuenlabrada. They are also the top scorer and the third team with least goals conceded. This is really significant considering that there are only three games to be played  (Mirandés, Fuenlabrada and Ponferradina) and reach the equator of the competition.
