UD Almería sings sought-after midfielder Nico Melamed

The new recruit puts pen-to-paper on a deal until 2030 after becoming free agent at RCD Espanyol Barcelona. He was a highly sought-after footballer in the summer transfer window, but the Andalusian Club signed him for 6 seasons

Although his arrival at UD Almería had been rumoured and speculated, the confirmation of his signing is still breaking news because UD Almería have managed to sign a young footballer of the highest quality, who was also highly sought-after in the summer transfer window. The Rojiblancos Club has been ahead of everyone and has signed him for 6 seasons until June 2030. Midfielder Nico Melamed is a versatile player who arrives as a free agent from RCD Espanyol in Barcelona, with whom he has earned promotion to Primera. 

Nicolás Melamed Ribaudo was born on 11th April, 2001 in the Barcelona-based town of Castelldefels. He is 23 years old and his entire footballing career has seen him at Espanyol. He went through the different Academy ranks of the Barcelona side until making the lead to the first team in the past 2020/21 season. In that campaign, he played 33 league fixtures in the Segunda, playing a key role in promotion to Primera, with 6 goals and four assists to his name. In the top flight, he has played 69 meetings. 

Nico Melamed is a right-footed player who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, left-winger or right-winger, especially on the left flank, since he has a good shot on him. The new addition is a powerful, fast player who has scored 14 goals and produced 12 assists in recent seasons between the Spanish top and second tiers.
