UD Almería players got Covid jabs

The Rojiblancos received single-dose Janssen at the Palacio de los Juegos Mediterraneos next to the stadium

The negotiations between the Unión Deportiva Almería and the Health Council of the Junta de Andalucía have allowed the first-team squad to get vaccinated against Covid-19 this Thursday morning to protect themselves and others. The players, who had just accomplished the first of the two training sessions scheduled, went to the Palacio de los Juegos Mediterraneos accompanied by UD Almeria Doctor Diego Portugal at noon in order to get a single-dose Janssen vaccine. The Club really appreciates the treatment of the health care workers who are working around the clock to keep patients safe throughout the pandemic.

On another note, this morning practice took place with the absence of left-winger Yannis who left Wednesday's session halfway through due to a toenail that prevented him from exercising so he has been working out at the gym instead. Centre-back Nikola Maraš was training on the sidelines, however the Serbian will join the group as usual in the next few days. Keeper Makaritze, with the Club's permission, has been absent as he had to sort out some documents in relation with his home country Georgia. The double training session will be completed with the second evening session of the day at the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos.

The UD Almeria squad members are going to have a break on Friday morning but they will train in the evening to finish with their first week of pre-season preparations with two separate training sessions on Saturday. The pre-season opener against top-flight Sport Lisboa e Benfica is taking place on Sunday, 18 July in Lisbon (Portugal).
