
UD Almeria players are in good health
The squad members take their medicals at the Vithas Almería Hospital with the Spanish company and club medical insurer Mapfre collaboration
The UD players have just finished their holidays and have officially started the 2022/23 pre-season. The squad members have started by taking their medicals prior to their first football practice to be conducted this Sunday afternoon. The medicals have been carried out at the Vithas Hospital Almería by the cardiology team and in collaboration with Spanish multinational company and club medical insurer Mapfre.
The Rojiblancos had a blood test, consultation with the cardiologist, electro, echocardio, stress test, as well as a general cardiological review. Vithas Almería with a complete medical team has collaborated with UD Almería. Dr Rafael Sola Casado, who has been in charge of performing the medical tests, is a renowned professional with more than 35 years of experience in heart medicine and specialises in interventional cardiology and angina. His first assessment of the players' health has been really positive.
Vithas Almería hosts the complementary tests that the players need for the diagnosis and recovery of injuries, radiodiagnosis services, as well as any surgery required for recovery. Pilar Espejo, managing director of the centre, indicated 'it's a pride for us that a top-tier team such as Unión Deportiva Almería, trust our health centre to carry out their medical check-ups. We reinforce our commitment to sport, healthy living. We truly hope that UD Almería have a magnificent season.'
The players arrived in staggered slots at the hospital to undergo these medical tests, which will continue this Saturday before training this Sunday. The UD Almería squad is formed by the existing players who earned promotion to the top flight, the newest signings made this summer, 'B' team players Fuoli, Cuenca and Rojas, as well as former loanees Rosić and Maraš. Sadiq, who after the regular season and promotion joined up with his country's national team (Nigeria) is taking part in training next week.
